Oxygen Tank began as a quarantine project between Chris Colohan (SECT, Cursed, Left For Dead) and Morgan Carpenter (Hive, Prison Shank). Carpenter wrote a crop of songs inspired by his love of early ‘00s Boston hardcore, and Colohan laid down vocals inspired by his favorite ‘90s Cleveland bands. The result is an EP of catchy, circle-pit friendly hardcore fans of In My Eyes, Ten Yard Fight, and Nine Shocks Terror would all bedroom mosh to. Three ripping original tracks and an updated version of Black Flag’s “Police Story” for the current hellscape.

(To the wolves
I have known and loved)
Looking back through the eyes of now
to our hallowed stomping ground
Don’t you wish you could set it in stone?
Don’t you just want to leave it alone?
I was a fool to think it would never end / never end
Cause I was there but I wasn’t
(the absolution, it’s helping no one)
And we all knew but we didn’t
(to keep the peace or keep the pieces?)
Surely there was something else to be
between wolves and sheep
predator and prey
Our world wasn’t supposed to work that fucking way
and now what can I say?
I was standing right there somewhere
looking off some other way
Laughing with the rest,
no one saying “Help”
So who’s to absolve us now
for questions we failed ask so close to home
when its one of our own?
It’s so easy now to play the hero
to see the signs, to kill the vibe
and cut you loose to do your time
…too little and too fucking late.
