lyrics
Shit hits fan and here I am
I know the drill like the back of my hand
Next refresh is gonna be the one,
the word that it was all a dream
Every ugly thing we kicked down the road
found its way back home
Stuck like rats in a million darkened rooms,
mainlining doom
In the throes, in a thrall
by the dying light of the endless scroll
Not with a whimper
and not with a bang
No world out there worth living in
Just bad thoughts doing circles
and patience wearing thin.
It took a plague
Now we see what we’re made of
in a billion lonely rooms
Algorithmic death
Infinite refresh
Cheap illusions will get you
everywhere but out of here.
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
UK82-inspired hardcore punk from Christchurch, New Zealand, gruff and fast and economical and, of course, righteously pissed. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 16, 2020
Dead Cross, Retox, and Qui members dish out subversive hardcore with an indignant smirk; come for the riffs, stay for the synth experiments. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 31, 2024
